Summer Training

 Summer Training for Friday July 23 is canceled

Summer Training will begin on July 7, 2010 at Ghiloni Park. 6PM meet at the track.

Training sessions will continue every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday same time and same place all throughout the summer.

Please come if you are interested in running with the team this year. You can be ANY ABILITY level.

Everyone is welcome.

  • Notes from Coach Downin
    • Don't go longer than 25 minutes when it is over 85 degrees. NO EXCEPTIONS.
    • If it is really hot, stay in the shade...the track is mostly shaded; the trails are shaded.
    • HYDRATING: you have to drink all day, not just when you run. Hydration is a way of life, not an exercise ritual.
    • If there is any sign of heat-related issue, call the ambulance. It is better to be wrong at the hospital, than to be wrong at home.

I WON my weight-class in the Big Man Run in Worcester, last Saturday. WOO HOO for me!

Training Tips

  • Bring your own water.
  • Drink lots of water during the day.
  • We meet for training in ANY WEATHER. If there is lightning, we will train inside. Make sure you dress accordingly and bring clothes to change into.
  • Make sure you wear sun screen.
  • Bring bug spray for the am sessions.
  • Get a cheap digital watch.
